- provides a protective coating that allows a barefoot horse to move over rough terrain without soreness. It is also recommended for providing extra support to heavy, late-term broodmares.
- The material sets firm (65 Shore hardness) but retains enough flexibility to move naturally with the foot, ensuring comfort. It has a quick set time of around 30 seconds, allowing for fast and convenient application by a farrier or knowledgeable horse owner.
- It can be used as a standalone protective layer for unshod feet or a thin protective layer on a shod foot. It is useful for horses transitioning from shoes to barefoot. When applied correctly, it bonds to the hoof for approximately two to three weeks, depending on the terrain and activity level.
- Application Notes
- The hoof must be properly trimmed, balanced, and thoroughly dried before application to ensure a strong bond.
- A Vettec dispensing gun and mixing tips are required for application and are sold separately. Contouring plastic is also often used to smooth and shape the material during application
- This product is not recommended for use on sore, lame, or very thin-soled feet
